Mrs. Schmidt

7th & 8th Grade Literature

  • B.B.A. in Finance, with Distinction, University of Oklahoma

  • Certified Instructor, Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW)

Mrs. Schmidt has been involved in classical education for over fifteen years. She taught at a small Christian classical school for seven years teaching secondary classes in literature, history, and logic, among others. Prior to that, she began learning and practicing the classical model while homeschooling her own children. She is mother to four adult children plus one daughter-in-law, and will celebrate 34 years of marriage this year.

Although she was born and raised an Oklahoman, Mrs. Schmidt has also lived in West Palm Beach, FL (surviving at least three hurricanes!) and Overland Park, KS. An avid Jane Austen fan, Mrs. Schmidt enjoys reading on her front porch, expanding her knowledge of classical literature, taking ballet classes, hiking with her family, and playing tennis.
